Professional sewing machine technician, formerly employed by Baer Fabrics, currently going forth in the world to seek his fortune.
Factory certified on Bernina and Baby Lock sewing and embroidery machines.
Experienced on a wide variety of household, professional, and industrial machines.
Experienced in the service and repair of vintage and collectible machines, including White Rotary machines, Singer 66/99 flatbeds, Willcox & Gibbs Automatic Chainstitch machines, treadle machines of various makes, and, of course, the celebrated Singer 221 Featherweight.
Certified Bernina service offered in association with Wilderness Road Quilt Company, Danville, KY.
Have tool kit, will travel; available for on-site or in-home service. (Minimum one hour travel time will be charged in Anderson, Franklin, Shelby, and Spencer Counties in Kentucky; service farther afield is not out of the question, but will be commensurately more expensive...)
Machines may be dropped off at your technician's residence by appointment, or, for those who may not be inclined to take a scenic drive through the bucolic hinterlands and twisting two-lane roads of rural Kentucky, satellite pick-up and drop-off service is available at several affiliated businesses in Kentucky and Southern Indiana:
Dailey's Fabrics and Upholstery, Frankfort, KY
Court Street Music, Lawrenceburg, KY
Holly Hock Quilt Shop, Corydon, IN
Making Ends Meet, Shelbyville, KY
Top Stitch Sewing Machine Service (Gary Fravert), Louisville, KY
Wilderness Road Quilt Company, Danville, KY
Please note that an additional handling charge of $10.00 applies for satellite service, and is payable to the affiliated merchant at the time of drop-off. Your technician feels that this is a fair and nominal compensation to his affiliates for their role in facilitating the service, and asks that you consider whether it is worth it to you to pay ten bucks in order not to have to make a two-hour round trip to the greater Glensboro metropolitan area, which offers lovely views of the Salt River Valley and the surrounding hills, but is really a considerable distance from just about anywhere, except maybe Chaplin or Mount Eden, depending on what exactly you understand by the term "considerable."
Machines are usually picked up from satellite affiliates on Mondays, and your technician will make every effort to return them on the following Monday, although your repair may take longer, depending on parts availability and the presence (or not) of any evil spirits in the works of the machine. Your technician does not visit Wilderness Road in Danville on Mondays, but he may currently be found lurking about the premises on most Thursdays, drinking hot Earl Grey and occasionally poking around the odd machine or two.
Mr. Maynard looks forward to providing you with superior service for your sewing equipment, and welcomes your correspondence, telephonic hailings, and electro-aethergrams on the subject. He will be happy to give you particulars as to rates and current lead times, and will, with the slightest provocation, declaim at tedious length about why the Singer Model 66-1 treadle is the finest household sewing machine ever, so it's probably best not to get him started.
*Arch-Druid of Glensboro (your correspondent is unaware of any other Druids in Glensboro, and therefore feels he may as well claim the honorific)
**In addition to being the lead technician, your correspondent is, in fact, the only technician at this time, but he hopes to one day have a whole raft of flunkies and minions, or at least a lackey or two.
